Shaping the Future: Integrated
Strategy for the Social, Economic and Cultural Development of
County Clare - 2002 to 2012
The Clare County Development
Board has engaged in a widespread process of consultation in order
to identify the key issues of concern throughout the County. The
CDB consists of representatives from state agencies, social partners,
elected representatives and the community and voluntary sector.
The CDB has also the expert advice of 6 sectoral Working groups
and Consultation groups. This consultation process has also contributed
to the creation of new countywide structures such as the Clare
Community Forum. Many of the issues raised by groups, agencies
and individuals throughout the County have been addressed in the
objectives and actions contained in the Integrated Strategy.
The Strategy is thus built on widespread consultation and will
be subject to ongoing review, in order to ensure its relevance
and effectiveness. This Integrated Strategy will be the guiding
framework for the development of all public policies in Clare
until 2012. The launch of the Strategy was held on the 4th February
2002 in Glór, the Irish Music Centre.
