Clare Community Forum (CCF)

Introduction

The Clare Community Forum (CCF) is the recognised body of the community and voluntary sector in County Clare. There are over 400 community & voluntary groups in Co. Clare registered with the Forum. It is supported by government funding on an annual basis, with assistance from the Directorate of Community & Enterprise, Clare County Council. The Forum develops an annual work programme to focus its work.

Background & Role of CCF

The Clare Community Forum (CCF) was established in 2000 following government guidelines for the purpose of including the community & voluntary sector in the decision- making structures of the county.
The purpose of the CCF is to ensure needs of community and voluntary groups throughout County Clare are represented in an effective manner.
The CCF provides a platform for community and voluntary groups to network, build linkages, consult and be consulted, to exchange information, share experience and work collectively to voice their common issues and concerns on topics relating to the social, economic and cultural development of County Clare.

Mission Statement

The Clare Community Forum is a representative body expressing the views and concerns of voluntary and community groups active in the county.

It seeks to enhance democracy at local level through empowerment, participation and the promotion of social inclusion

The Forum embraces the values of participation, consultation and shared decision-making.

While preserving autonomy and independence, the Forum operates in a spirit of partnership with relevant bodies for the development of County Clare.
