‘Community Focus’ on Clare FM
The Clare Community Forum together with Rural Resource Development
Ltd. and Clare FM have supported a pilot community radio slot on
Clare FM’s Morning Focus programme, on Thursday mornings after
the 11am news.
The radio slot focuses on community groups working in County Clare.
The purpose is to promote community & voluntary activity and
to inform people of the variety of activities happening in their
local area looking for their support and also to enhance the CCF
& the Area Networks.
The programme goes out each week from a different area of the county
focusing on 3 - 4 community projects in each programme. Each programme
also focuses on at least one project that has a ‘social inclusion’
aspect – looking at youth projects, activities with older
persons and people with a disability for example. This is in line
with one of the Clare Community Forum’s role to promote social
inclusion in its activities.
The pilot programmes have been very successful and will continue.
Community groups who are interested in talking about their community
project can contact Ríonach
Power, Development Officer ph 6846 222 or John Drummey, Clare
FM ph 6828 888
This project is an action in the Integrated Strategy.
