Local Development Agencies Brochure Launched by Clare County
Development Board
23rd May 2005
Cllr. Pat Hayes, Chairperson of Clare County Development Board
launched the ‘Local
Development Agencies in Co. Clare’ brochure to assist
people and groups in understanding what supports are being provided
by what organisations.
‘Local Development Agencies’ (LDA) is a particular
term referring to groups which are core-funded by either the Department
of Community Rural & Gaeltacht Affairs, Department of Justice,
Equality & Law Reform or the Department of Social & Family
Affairs. There are 13 such groups in County Clare. The majority
of the Local Development Agencies focus their resources on promoting
social inclusion.
Because of the number of these organisations operating in Clare,
supporting people and groups in different ways, Clare CDB with the
support of all 13 LDAs produced the brochure to give clarity on
the role of each of the groups and the support they give and to
whom. It is hoped that anyone seeking further information would
contact the Local Development Agencies Directly.
