Sue Targett, ADM Groups. Sue Targett - ADM Groups

Sue Targett is a native of London who has made County Clare her home since the late 1980s. She has a Masters degree in Rural Development from NUI Galway, and an MSc in Music Technology from the University of Limerick.

Sue has been Manager of EIRÍ Corca Baiscinn since 1997. EIRÍ is an independent company which implements the Local Development Social Inclusion Programme (LDSIP) throughout west Clare. EIRÍ focuses its work in three areas:

  • Services to the Unemployed - Business Start-up Support / Social Economy / Adult Education / Welfare Rights
  • Community Development - Direct development work with women, lone parents, older people, people with disabilities.
  • Community Based Youth Initiatives - Direct development work with young people at risk of unemployment, after schools projects, childcare.

Sue has also worked as Enterprise Development Worker in Doonbeg and had a central role in negotiating initial development conditions for the golf course. She also achieved substantial progress on other local enterprise infrastructure projects such as the pier and Doonbeg river angling.

Sue is a member of the Equality, Poverty Reduction and Community Development Implementation Group of the Clare County Development Board.

Doirin Graham, LEADER Rural Resource Development.

Doirin Graham - LEADER Rural Resource Development

Born and educated in Dublin, Doirin graduated from University College Dublin with a degree in Agricultural Science in 1989, followed by a master's degree in Rural Development from UCD in 1991.

Following one year with an INTERREG training project based in County Monaghan, Doirin came to County Clare in 1993 to work for Rural Resource Development under the LEADER I Programme. As Projects Officer, Doirin was responsible for the management of project grant funds under the LEADER I and LEADER II Programmes in County Clare.

Appointed CEO of RRD in 2003, Doirin is responsible for the management of the current LEADER National Rural Development Programme to 2006.

Eamonn Kelly - Clare County Enterprise Board

Eamonn is the Chief Executive of the Clare County Enterprise Board - an agency established in 1993 to assist at local level the establishment and sustainability of micro-enterprise through a range of measures. Since 1993 he has acted as a Board Member of Ennis West Partners Ltd. and Rural Resource Development Ltd.

He has also served as a Board Member on the Western Development Commission. Prior to taking up duty with Clare County Enterprise Board, Eamonn was employed as Clare County Council's Finance Officer and during his career with the Local Authority, he has gained extensive experience in many of the Local Authority principal functions.

Karen McCarthy, Clare County Childcare Committee.

Karen McCarthy - Clare County Childcare Committee

Karen McCarthy is a native of Co. Antrim and has been living in Ennis for the past 13 years.

She has been employed as the County Childcare Co-Ordinator with Clare County Childcare Committee for the past 3 years. Previous to this she was a Training Co-ordinator with a community project for five years and delivered FETAC Level II and Highscope training to various childcare organisations around the Munster region for four years.
